Our Help Is Near

I love the Lord, because He hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because He inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live. Psalm 116:1-2

Are you aware that the God of the universe hears your prayers, really and truly hears your prayers? This statement of truth should cause us to marvel on one hand and on the other hand cause us to dash to the thrown of God with our petitions! It amazing me to know that I have access to my God at all times. I am so thankful that I do not have to wander through this life on my own, trying to figure out what I am to do in each situation that arises. I have been given direct access to my Father in heaven through the gift of His Son.

According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue. 2 Peter 1:3.

This life confuses me at times. Every day I am faced with situations where I need guidance and direction. I am so thankful for this reminder in 2 Peter that tells me that the Lord has given me ALL things through the knowledge of Him. When we submit our lives to Him, He supplies the knowledge, strength, and grace to live the life He has planned for us.

So now that we know these things, do we use it?

Daily, I am given the opportunity to see these verses at work. My children frequently give me the opportunity to seek the Lord and to rely on His knowledge to graciously handle a situation. Fortunately we are not asked to know all things about all situations. Rather, we need only know the One who knows it all and who can help us through our unknowns as we seek Him. As my children get older, the job of training them and sometimes disciplining them has become tougher. The situations are not as black and white as when they were toddlers. I have found myself having to send them to another room during times of tension, mostly so that I have time to call out to the Lord, asking for His guidance in the situation. When I am faithful to do this, He is faithful to guide and direct me. I can partner with Him in parenting and any area I choose to seek Him in.

May you experience the gift of His knowledge and leading as you choose to seek Him for your daily needs. He’s available for us! Amazing!

Because of Jesus,

Eunora

  1. I love what you said about our daily situations giving us the "opportunity" to seek out scripture! Very wise! Thanks for linking up.
