Another thing I have found extremely helpful is to write out my student’s schedules each week. This does take time and effort on my part (I try and get this done on Fridays which are usually a lighter day). I have created a blank master copy with the subjects that are covered each day. I then fill in their week’s assignments. I only do one week, maybe two at a time to allow for changes that do occur. The purpose of this is for the student to see what his assignments are and move toward completing what they can on their own. This way they are not constantly coming and asking what they are to do or waiting for you to be available to tell them what to do. For those students who are encouraged when they see a task completed, this provides a visible sheet to check off. I also used to be asked if they were done with school. This question is now no longer heard because they can see what they have already finished and what needs to be finished. I love it!

I used to think I didn't need to do this but, as my kids get older I like what your saying...they can mark off what they do so they don't have to have mommy always keeping them on task...Thanks Eunora your packed full of great ideas :)
